There are a few things that can causing pair problems. One possibility is a file permission issue. To fix this:
  1. Launch the Disk Utility application on your Mac (found in Applications -> Utilities).
  2. Select your hard drive volume in the left-hand column.
  3. Click the "Repair Disk Permissions" button (under "First Aid").
  4. While you have Disk Utility open, you may want to use the "Repair Disk" feature just to make sure there aren't any other problems with your hard disk.

After you've done that, restart both your iPhone (hold down the power key for a few seconds) AND your Mac. Then follow these pairing instructions:
  1. Make sure your iPhone and Mac are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Your iPhone should show a Wi-Fi icon in the upper left corner (not 3G, 4G, LTE, etc.)
  2. Open the preferences window in SOHO Notes and click the iPhone button.
  3. Click the “+” button in the iPhone preferences. Your iPhone should appear in the pairing window (NoteLife must be running on your iPhone).
  4. Select your iPhone in the pairing window and click the “Pair” button.
  5. SOHO Notes will display a 4-digit passcode. A passcode entry window will also open in NoteLife on your iPhone.
  6. Enter the 4-digit passcode in NoteLife and click the OK button.

NoteLife syncing requires that "Bonjour" be enabled on your Wi-Fi network. If the above instructions don't work, that may indicate a problem with Bonjour. Here's how you can test it:
  1. Launch the "App Store" app on your iPhone and search for Apple's "Remote" app (it's free).
  2. Download the Remote app and launch it.
  3. Choose "Add an iTunes Library" -- a 4-digit passcode should appear.
  4. Launch iTunes on your Mac.
  5. In the left-hand column in iTunes, look for a section called "DEVICES" -- your iPhone should appear in this section.
  6. Select your iPhone in iTunes, then enter the 4-digit passcode.

If your iPhone does not show up in iTunes (or if you can't enter the passcode for some other reason), that suggests that Bonjour is NOT working on your Wi-Fi network. In that case, you may want to look at Apple's Bonjour support page: http://www.apple.com/support/bonjour/

Some other things to check:
  1. Do you have a firewall enabled on your Mac? If so, you may need to disable it in order to pair/sync.
  2. Does your Mac have more than one network connection? For example, does it have an ethernet connection AND a wireless connection? If so, you may need to disable one.
